The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its election manifesto, titled “Sankalp Patra,” for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, focusing on the upliftment of various segments of society such as women, youth, farmers, and the poor. The manifesto was released in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, and several Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar.
One Nation, One Poll
A major highlight of the manifesto is the proposal for “One Nation, One Poll,” which advocates holding simultaneous elections for both the Lok Sabha and state assemblies across the country. This initiative aims to streamline the electoral process and enhance governance efficiency. The BJP is committed to creating the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem to facilitate this ambitious endeavor.
Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
Another significant aspect of the manifesto is the emphasis on implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to the election manifesto committee for their diligent efforts in crafting the “Sankalp Patra.” He emphasized that the BJP’s manifesto reflects its commitment to transforming India into a developed nation. The manifesto focuses on empowering the youth, women, poor, and farmers, with a keen emphasis on enhancing their quality of life and economic opportunities.
Key Initiatives and Guarantees
- The BJP pledges to continue initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation and job creation, such as the “Nivesh se Naukri” campaign.
- Special attention will be given to senior citizens, with every individual above the age of 70 being covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
- The government plans to increase the Mudra Yojana loan ceiling to Rs 20 lakh and expand the PM Swanidhi Yojana to tier two and tier three cities.
- Efforts will be made to empower women through self-help groups (SHGs) and skill development programs. The BJP aims to create three crore more “Lakhpati Didis” to promote economic independence among women.
- Persons with disabilities will receive priority in housing schemes, with tailored accommodations to meet their specific needs.
- The BJP envisions a National Cooperative Policy to strengthen dairy and cooperative societies across the country.
- Special provisions will be made for small farmers, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and make India a global hub for nutrition.
- The BJP reaffirms its commitment to implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to address pressing societal issues.
JP Nadda’s Remarks
BJP president JP Nadda underscored the party’s ideological commitment and its consistent efforts to advance the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.” He reiterated the BJP’s track record of fulfilling its promises and assured voters of continued dedication to inclusive development.
