The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued a notification for recruitment to various positions within the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF). A total of 4660 vacancies have been announced across the ranks of Sub-Inspector (SI) and Constable.

The notification acknowledges the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and offers a one-time relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit. This relaxation applies to all candidates. Additionally, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be entitled to further relaxation in the upper age limit as per government regulations.
  • Constable (Executive): A total of 4208 vacancies are available for Constable positions. The age limit for constable applicants is between 18 and 28 years as of July 1, 2024. Similar to the SI positions, the notification offers a one-time COVID-19 relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit for all candidates. Reserved category candidates will also be eligible for further age relaxation as per government regulations.

Educational Qualifications

  • Sub-Inspector (SI): Candidates applying for SI positions must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university.
  • Constable (Executive): The minimum educational qualification for Constable positions is Class 10 pass certificate from a recognized board.

It is important to note that candidates whose qualifying examination results are awaited are not eligible to apply at this time.

Application Fees

The application fee for both SI and Constable positions is ₹500 for all candidates except those belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Ex-Servicemen, Women, Minority communities, or Economically Backward Classes (EBC). Candidates from these reserved categories will be required to pay a reduced application fee of ₹125. The notification clarifies that a portion of the application fee will be refunded to candidates who appear for the computer-based test (CBT) as part of the selection process.
