As Ayodhya gears up for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir, ride-hailing giant Uber has introduced electric auto rickshaw services in the sacred city. Scheduled for January 22, the ‘Pran-Pratishtha’ ceremony will witness the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.
The official Uber India X Twitter account shared the news, stating, “We are excited to introduce our EV Auto service in Ayodhya. The event was flagged off by Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri @myogiadityanath. This marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing seamless mobility solutions to tourists visiting the temple town.”
Enhanced Mobility Solutions for Tourists
Uber’s EV auto rickshaw services in Ayodhya will be accessible through the company’s mobile app, offering an affordable and speedy booking process to cater to the increased demand during the upcoming event.
Future Expansion Plans
Uber also has plans to roll out UberGo and Uber Intercity services in Ayodhya shortly. The intercity option will connect Ayodhya with other cities in Uttar Pradesh, providing more comprehensive transportation options for residents and visitors.
Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India, expressed his excitement about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to expand our services to Ayodhya as it emerges on the travel map of millions. With this expansion, we are not only providing enhanced mobility options for tourists and pilgrims but also unlocking earning opportunities for many more in the region.”
Grand Consecration Ceremony
Preparations are in full swing for the consecration ceremony at the Ram Mandir, with Vedic rituals scheduled to commence a week before the main event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the grand ceremony, having announced a special 11-day ‘anushthan’ leading up to the event.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended invitations to eminent personalities from various backgrounds to partake in the historic event.
Uber’s initiative to introduce electric auto rickshaws aligns with the broader goal of providing eco-friendly and efficient transportation solutions, contributing to the overall mobility experience in Ayodhya.
