Victory for Four BJP Women Candidates in Odisha

In Odisha, four women candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in the Lok Sabha elections. Aparajita Sarangi, a former IAS officer, retained her Bhubaneswar seat by defeating her Biju Janata Dal (BJD) rival Manmath Kumar Routray by 35,152 votes. Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo of the erstwhile royal family of Patna won the Bolangir seat, defeating BJD’s Surendra Singh Bhoi by 1,32,664 votes. Malvika Devi, also from a royal lineage in Kalahandi, secured a win in the Kalahandi constituency by 1,33,813 votes, defeating Lambodar Nial of the BJD. In the Aska constituency, BJP’s Anita Subhadarshini won by defeating Ranjita Sahu of the BJD by 99,974 votes.

Father-Son Duo Fails to Secure Congress Win in Madhya Pradesh

The BJP achieved a clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh, winning all 29 seats and leaving the Congress without a single victory. This outcome was particularly disappointing for Congress veterans Kamal Nath and Kantilal Bhuria. In Chhindwara, Kamal Nath, who had won the seat nine times since the 1980s, could not secure a victory for his son Nakul Nath. In Ratlam, despite Kantilal Bhuria’s son being an MLA in one of the Assembly segments, Bhuria himself lost his seat.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a meeting of all its MLAs in Delhi at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Scheduled for 5 pm today, the meeting will address the election results and strategize the party’s future course of action. Senior leaders, including AAP MPs Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, were seen arriving at the residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, indicating ongoing discussions and alliance formations.
