A Delhi tea vendor’s wish came true when his daughter passed the Chartered Accountant (CA) exam earlier this month—a touching story of tenacity and family support. Amita Prajapati recorded this touching event and posted it to LinkedIn, where it went viral and touched many people. It also garnered a lot of attention on social media.

The Journey to Success

Amita Prajapati, the daughter of a humble tea seller, shared her emotional journey in a heartfelt post. She recounted the struggles and societal pressures her family faced, with many doubting their ability to fund her education. “Papa, main CA ban gayi (Papa, I have become a CA),” she wrote, highlighting the culmination of a decade-long effort to achieve her dreams.

The journey was fraught with challenges. “It took 10 years. Every day, with dreams in my eyes, I would ask myself if this was just a dream or if it would ever come true. July 11, 2024, today, it became a reality. Yes, dreams do come true,” Prajapati wrote. Her persistence and dedication paid off, leading to this moment of triumph.

Overcoming Doubts and Criticism

Throughout her journey, Prajapati faced numerous naysayers. She shared how people often discouraged her father from investing in her education, believing she wouldn’t succeed because she was perceived as a “below-average student.” These individuals suggested that her father should save money and build a house instead of spending on her education. “They used to say you can’t afford to educate her so much by selling tea, save money and build a house instead. How long will you keep living on the streets with grown-up daughters,” she recalled.

However, her father’s unwavering belief in her potential kept her going. Despite living in a slum, he supported her dreams wholeheartedly. Prajapati’s post emphasized her father’s relentless support and the sacrifices he made to ensure she had the opportunity to pursue her education.

Pride and Gratitude

Now that she has achieved her goal, Prajapati feels a deep sense of pride and gratitude. She no longer feels ashamed of her humble background, as her success has empowered her to fulfill her father’s wishes. “Some people used to say, ‘slum-dwellers, with crazy minds,’ true, absolutely correct, if my mind wasn’t crazy, I wouldn’t have reached here today. And now, I am capable enough to build a house for my father. I can fulfill all his wishes,” she expressed.

Prajapati concluded her post by expressing profound gratitude towards her parents: “Whatever I am today, is because of my papa and mummy who believed in me so much and never thought that one day I would leave them but instead thought that I would educate my daughters.
