In a bizarre incident that went viral on social media, a man dressed as Spider-Man was arrested by Delhi Traffic Police for performing a dangerous stunt on the bonnet of a moving car. The video captured the spectacle, sparking amusement and a strong reminder of road safety.
Dwarka Roads Incident
The incident unfolded on Dwarka roads when a Twitter complaint alerted the authorities about a Scorpio car with a passenger – the Spider-Man – perched precariously on its bonnet. Acting swiftly, the Dwarka Traffic Circle Mobile Prosecution Team, led by ASI Devender Joshi and HC Yashpal, along with local police personnel, swung into action.
Their investigation identified the Spider-Man as 20-year-old Aditya from Najafgarh, Delhi. The driver of the vehicle, Gaurav Singh, a 19-year-old resident of Mahavir Enclave, was also apprehended. The team traced the car and located the duo near Ramphal Chowk, Dwarka.
Delhi Police Zero Tolerance approach
While some on social media found the incident amusing, the Delhi Traffic Police took a zero-tolerance approach. Both Aditya and Gaurav were charged with dangerous driving, driving without a valid pollution certificate, and not wearing seatbelts. The potential consequences for these offenses include a hefty fine of up to Rs. 26,000, imprisonment, or both.
Significant importance of road saftey
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety. These reckless actions not only endanger the lives of the stunt performers but also pose a serious threat to other motorists and pedestrians.
The Delhi Traffic Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe roads for everyone. They urge citizens to report any instances of dangerous driving or traffic violations to maintain smooth traffic flow and protect lives.
While the “Spider-Man” may have intended this as a lighthearted act, it serves as a valuable lesson. Superhero antics belong on the screen, not on busy city streets.
