TwinsTribe is a Nagpur-based firm that was founded in 2022 with the goal of fostering a network for twin parents and offering cutting-edge items made especially to meet the special requirements of twin-parent households. TwinsTribe is quickly becoming well-known in a developing industry with products like parenting guides and detachable twin strollers.

The Challenge of Parenting Twins

Raising twins makes the already difficult job of parenthood even more difficult. Any parent can become overwhelmed by frequent feedings, sleepless nights, and nappy changes. Ruchika Agrawal and Nikita Agarwal, cousins, launched TwinsTribe with the goal of easing these difficulties by providing well-thought-out items that are tailored to the unique requirements of twin parents.

TwinsTribe began as a network for twin parents in June 2022 and added a range of items to its offers in February 2023. Detachable twin strollers that can be divided into two single strollers, adaptable twin bassinets that double as playpens, and activity diaries for monitoring feeding times, diaper changes, and sleep schedules are just a few of the startup’s forty-four unique products.

A Personal Journey Inspired by Real Needs

Being twin parents themselves served as inspiration for Ruchika and Nikita’s entrepreneurial path. Ruchika said, “We were shocked to see how limited the options were for twin parents.” She has always been interested in entrepreneurship because she came from a family of business owners. Nikita concurred, highlighting the critical need for creative ideas in this field.

Initially, TwinsTribe served as a forum for twin parents to support one another and exchange stories. Over 25 posts on the TwinsTribe blog, written by the founders, Indian twin parents, physicians, and specialists, cover important subjects like first flights, NICU travel, nursing advice, and hospital bag necessities. With about 5,000 monthly visitors, the site has grown to be a useful tool for new and expectant parents.

Capitalizing on a Growing Market

Twin pregnancies have significantly increased in India as a result of breakthroughs in reproductive treatments and delayed pregnancies. “The rise in fertility treatments has led to a notable increase in twin births in recent years,” observes Ruchika. Research shows that since the 1980s, the number of twin births worldwide has risen by one-third, underscoring the rising need for goods catered to this market.

According to our analysis, there are a lot of chances for innovation and growth in the twin-parenting market, Ruchika continues.

Innovative Products for Twin Parents

Twin kids from birth to about two years old are served by TwinsTribe’s product line. The detachable twin pram, the product of interest, costs 21,249 on the TwinsTribe website and 21,999 on Amazon. It is advertised as the lightest stroller in its class and is compatible with aeroplanes, making it perfect for travel with a combined weight of only 11.5 kg for two strollers. For added comfort, the product also has seat liners and mosquito nets.

TwinsTribe also sells twin sleeper bassinets for 16,149 and bassinet/playpens for 16,999, in addition to the pram. Activity and memory logs, blankets, twin outfit sets, parent T-shirts, and a variety of toy sets, including puzzles and soft toys, are among the other products available. Approximately 70–75% of purchases now take place on the TwinsTribe website.

Future Growth and Expansion Plans

Nikita oversees product sourcing and customer delivery, while Ruchika concentrates on marketing and brand promotion. There are currently about 4,000 parents of twins and one parent of triplets in the TwinsTribe community. Despite the small market for products tailored to triplets, the creators are amenable to customisation in response to demand.

The Indian baby care products market is expected to develop at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.42% to reach $15.32 billion by 2031, according to a report conducted by Data Bridge Market Research. Ruchika notes that although the market for baby products is congested overall, the twins sector has received less attention, which makes TwinsTribe’s products particularly useful. The business has grown remarkably, increasing monthly revenues and hitting a run rate of ₹40–50 lakh in just six months.

Navigating Challenges and Looking Ahead

For Ruchika, making the switch from a corporate job to entrepreneurship was a big struggle. She muses, “As a woman, you’re always worried about whether you can get back to the same level after leaving a career you’ve worked hard for.” But within the next five years, the founders are committed to making TwinsTribe a major worldwide brand.

TwinsTribe intends to create a formal network of professionals and services for its community in response to growing requests for assistance on issues like mental health, sleep training, nutrition, and nursing.

Final Thoughts

More than just a firm, TwinsTribe is a movement that uses creative goods and a caring community to empower twin parents. Ruchika and Nikita are laying the groundwork for a better parenting landscape by tackling the particular difficulties experienced by families with twins.
