Recently, popular actor Allu Arjun found himself embroiled in fake news controversy when an old video of him participating in a rally went viral, with claims that he was campaigning for the Congress party.

The video in question was initially shared on X (formerly Twitter) by actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal R Khan, asserting that Allu Arjun was actively supporting the Congress party. This claim quickly gained traction as the video circulated across various social media platforms. However, investigations into the matter revealed that the video was not related to any political campaign.

Contrary to the misleading claims, the viral video featuring Allu Arjun was actually from the 2022 India Day Parade held in New York. At this event, which marked the 40th India Parade in New York, Allu Arjun was honored as the ‘Grand Marshal’, representing India on a prestigious platform. The parade took place on August 21, 2022, and Allu Arjun was accompanied by his wife, Sneha Reddy. Despite the widespread dissemination of the video with false narratives, Allu Arjun has refrained from issuing any statements or reactions regarding the fake news.

Allu Arjun is not the only celebrity to fall victim to misinformation and deepfake videos during this tumultuous political climate. Actor Ranveer Singh recently found himself entangled in a similar controversy when an AI-generated video purportedly showing him criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government went viral. In response, Ranveer Singh took legal action by filing an FIR against the perpetrators responsible for spreading false content. His spokesperson confirmed the legal proceedings, denouncing the dissemination of misleading information.

Amidst the swirl of misinformation, Allu Arjun has been focusing on his upcoming project, “Pushpa: The Rule”.
