The airport management published a statement confirming the suspension, which lasted about 66 minutes. During this time, 15 flights were diverted to adjacent airports for safety reasons.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for thunderstorms with lightning and moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.
