This unique solution strives to improve the user experience and bring a personal touch to celebrations. Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, introduced the new functionality on social networking platform X (previously Twitter). He recounted his own experience testing the tool by ordering a cake to celebrate an employee’s tenth work anniversary. Goyal stressed that customers may now upload photographs to the Zomato app and have customized cakes delivered to their doorsteps in about 30 minutes.
How It Works
Users may order a bespoke photo cake on Zomato in a few simple steps. Search for “Photo Cakes” in the Zomato app. Choose a restaurant from the list of alternatives. Select your desired cake and its weight. Upload the selected photo (minimum file size: 55kb). Preview the final cake design. Place your order and await your arrival.
Availability and Expansion
Currently, this feature is only available in some parts of Delhi NCR, with intentions to expand to more cities in the near future. Goyal thanked the restaurant partners who helped deploy this service in time for Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024.
